English Language Training

Communication difficulties in the business world due to English language usage can arise from reasons such as language barriers, cultural differences, lack of clarity and conciseness, information overload, lack of non-verbal cues, lack of active listening, and technological challenges. Misunderstanding or miscommunication can occur due to varying accents, pronunciations, vocabularies, cultural nuances, complex and technical expressions, and remote communication issues, among others. This can affect business decisions, response time, productivity, and relationships. Firms can address these by investing in language and cultural training, actively promoting clear and brief communication, and using communication tools with translation features. Encouraging active engagement in conversations and providing regular feedback can also help in understanding and overcoming communication barriers.

Leading the English language training project became challenging to me. It requires a combination of organizational skills, instructional knowledge, and cultural sensitivity. As the lead of the project, my responsibilities would include planning, placement testing, survey according to their needs of english language, placement testing, result analysis, Training Need Analysis, monitoring and reporting. It would be important to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where students feel comfortable practicing their language skills and expressing themselves. So on along with me and my director, the Education First (EF) support us strategically. Plus, the organization division heads support the campaign as stakeholders of the project.

They also assess the individual needs of each student and provide targeted instruction to address their specific areas of improvement. Additionally, in order to ensure the success of the project, I would collaborate with community organizations and businesses to create opportunities for students to use their English skills in real-world settings. Overall, leading an English language training project would involve a balanced approach of planning, instruction, and community engagement.

The objectives of our organization, referring to the specific goals and outcomes that individuals or organizations aim to achieve through a language training program. These objectives typically focus on developing the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

  1. Improve communication skills: The primary objective of English language training is to enhance the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. This includes developing fluency, accuracy, and clarity in speech, as well as the ability to convey ideas and thoughts coherently in writing
  2. Enhance vocabulary and grammar: English language training aims to expand learners’ vocabulary and improve their understanding and usage of grammar rules. This objective enables learners to express themselves accurately and precisely in both everyday and professional contexts.
  3. Develop reading comprehension: English language training programs often prioritize improving reading skills to enable learners to understand and interpret written texts. This includes enhancing their ability to comprehend various types of texts, recognize key ideas, infer meaning from context, and become proficient in skimming and scanning techniques.
  4. Strengthen listening comprehension: Another key objective of English language training is to develop listening skills. This involves improving learners’ ability to understand spoken English, including different accents and speaking styles. Training may focus on improving comprehension of everyday conversations, lectures, presentations, and other audio materials.
  5. Enhance speaking abilities: English language training aims to build learners’ confidence and fluency in spoken English. This includes developing pronunciation, intonation, and accent reduction, as well as providing practice in various speaking situations like giving presentations, participating in group discussions, and engaging in informal conversations.
  6. Improve writing skills: English language training programs typically aim to enhance learners’ writing skills to effectively communicate ideas and information through written English. This objective may include improving grammar and sentence structure, organizing ideas coherently, and developing correct punctuation and spelling.
  7. Cultivate cultural awareness: English language training often includes an objective to promote intercultural competence and understanding. This involves exposing learners to diverse cultural aspects, traditions, customs, and norms to enable effective communication and adaptation in an English-speaking environment.
  8. Foster autonomous learning: English language training aims to instill effective language learning strategies, such as vocabulary acquisition techniques, reading strategies, and listening comprehension exercises. The objective is to equip learners with skills to continue improving their English independently and sustain language development beyond the training program.

These objectives may vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the learners, such as academic English, business English, or English for specific purposes. By setting clear objectives, English language training programs can ensure that learners receive tailored instruction and can measure progress effectively.

Currently, the project at its implementation and we are on the track to start the classes by Monday February 17th 2024 and last for 6 months. 150 Participants completed their onboarding session that provide them an overview of the training.
