Models Culture Magazine editor-in-chief Jonath will be stepping down from his role after 6 years of breaking boundaries at the startup fashion magazine.

The Fashion Model will remain as an editorial advisor to the new management as affiliates. Jonath aim to have time with his family and focus on achieving career enhancement. His new portfolio in Medical Field will also allow him to take on external projects and growth on his career. Jonath will be involved with the recruitment search for his successor nor partnership with the new shareholder and team. The Filipino creative is the first asian man to hold the top job at the Models Culture fashion magazine definitely, the founder and director. Models Culture recently featured Model and Fashion Designer Mary Ravinkovic on it’s Issue 7, including Model Vasileios Oikonomou for Issue 8 (Unpublished). In an interview last year about his favourite Models Culture covers, Jonath said the inspiration behind his first one in December 2017 published in 2019  featuring mixed race model Caithlee Traut was aimed at resetting “the image of modern Africa”. “It was important to create a cover that represented the Models Culture of today, a multicultural society where everyone was welcome – where my family was welcome, every nation is welcome, that’s what diversity calls for.” he said. Jonath has been a high-profile champion for greater inclusivity in the fashion industry. He took over as editor-in-chief of Models Culture in August 2017 as a  startup company, of social marketing and publishing. One of his first priorities was to diversify his staff at the publication including the products. And in 2019, model and Student Caithlee Traut became the first woman to be featured in Models Culture as part of a feature celebrating women empowerment. Jonath has been open about his struggles with racism and being asian to high end publication along with vogue and other famous Fashion Magazine. A few years ago, while working as editor-in-chief, Jonath said he was racially profiled after being told to “Asian Founders unwanted For Startup” by platform of Investors and startups. Well, its not verbally said so, but the form itself asking the origin of the founder. “His influence has been immense. I write for Models Culture because I found him so inspiring. His leadership in the areas of inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability – what he calls the three pillars of Models Culture – have been unmatched in any publication.” said Fay Reyes.

In a memo sent to Models Culture staff, Jonath said he would “continue to contribute to the creative and cultural success of the Models Culture brand globally” in his new focus, “whilst having the freedom to take on broader creative projects”. A head of editorial content for Models Culture will also be part of the executives, he said, adding: “For now everything remains the same, and I’m so excited about what the future holds for us.” Jonath thanked UK staff and writers including sponsors, the mother company and it’s affiliates of publishers, “for their continued support”.
